Anthropic, the artificial intelligence company behind Claude, has publicly filed its registration documents for an initial public offering in the United States, advancing plans for what could become one of the largest stock market debuts in history. The company intends to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker symbol ANT, although the offering’s final valuation, share price and fundraising target remain undetermined.
The public filing follows months of speculation surrounding Anthropic’s plans to enter public markets. The company submitted confidential registration documents to U.S. regulators in June before making its prospectus publicly available on Monday, October 26. A potential November listing would place Anthropic among the most valuable publicly traded technology companies.
Financial disclosures reveal substantial revenue growth alongside significant losses. Anthropic reported approximately $16.3 billion in revenue during the first six months of 2026, while its net loss reached $80.7 billion. Much of the reported loss reflects accounting adjustments associated with convertible securities rather than operating expenditures.
The company’s revenue increased by approximately 1,368% during the second quarter compared with the same period last year. Demand for enterprise artificial intelligence services and advanced language models has driven rapid expansion, although developing and operating increasingly capable systems requires extensive computing infrastructure.
Anthropic’s potential public offering comes amid growing scrutiny of the artificial intelligence industry’s financial sustainability. Investors have questioned whether the substantial capital committed to data centers, computing infrastructure and advanced model development will generate sufficient returns. The company’s prospectus also identifies operational and safety risks associated with increasingly autonomous artificial intelligence systems.
The offering could raise as much as $100 billion, according to previously reported estimates, potentially exceeding the record established by SpaceX earlier this year. However, Anthropic has not established its final offering terms, and market conditions could affect its valuation and listing timetable.
